Today I made some new friends. In preparation for this season I have decided that it is time to upgrade my bike as my current tri bike is from 2006. The change in technology over the past 10 years will really make a difference in my performance and overall time on the bike course. For the last few years I have drooled over the Scott Plasma. Scott has created a speed weapon that integrates key new features into the bike frame that will maximize aerodynamics and speed.

So today I travelled down to the Shops at Don Mills to the The 11 Inc. to purchase a Scott Plasma. I contacted the shop earlier in the week to arrange to get properly sized. As I walked in the shop my jaw hit the floor! The shop is stunning and filled with numerous beautiful bikes. As I started to look around I was greeted by Amanda, one of the 11's employees. She was super friendly and told me that Heath would be with me shortly to do my fitting.

Now, because of my Italian heritage, I believe a good way to make new friend is through food. So as a "nice to meet you" I brought the staff some home-made chocolate cookies that I whipped up that morning. After a cookie (or two) Heath and I got to work. He used the Radlabor bike fit system to determine that I needed a small Scott Plasma. We were both confused because I have been riding a 54cm (medium) bike for the past 10 years. I brought in my old bike and we set it up on the trainer and I rode for a couple of minutes. Heath looked at some of my angles and told me with 100% certainty that I needed the smaller size. He even took the Scott Plasma from the showroom and showed me the two sizes in comparison to each other and how they relate to my riding. He was right, I definitely need the small! After hammering out the size, we talked about components and what would be best for helping me achieve my goals in Kona.

Now bikes are funny. You can buy a top of the line bike, but you will always want more. More flash, more speed, more bikes! Heath was unbelievable. He took the time to discuss my needs and figure out the perfect machine for me to race on this year. I was blown away by the customer service throughout my visit. The stressful and scary experience of buying a new bike was not stressful or scary at all because of Heath, Angela, Amanda and the entire staff at The 11 Inc.

If you are in the market for a new bike, stop in at The 11 Inc. and take a look at all the beautiful machines they have in stock. Their knowledge will make it easy to determine which bike would be best for your specific needs. As for me, I can't wait for the call from Heath letting me know when my bike is ready to be picked up!
